The Rosemount 644 temperature transmitter is the most cost-effective temperature transmitter in the Rosemount transmitter temperature series. It is versatile, supporting HART®, FOUNDATION™ fieldbus, or PROFIBUS® protocols, and offers top, field, or rail mounting styles along with various housing options. 1. The Rosemount 644 head-mounted and field-mounted temperature transmitters support the following functions:
1. Configurable HART using selectable HART version functions (Version 5 or Version 7).
2. Accepts 1 or 2 channel inputs from various sensor types (2, 3, and 4 wire RTD, thermocouples, mV, and Ohm).
3. The electronic components of the compact transmitter are fully encapsulated in protective silicone material and wrapped in a plastic housing, ensuring long-term reliability.
4. Optional safety certification options (IEC 61508 SIL 2).
5. Optional enhanced accuracy and stability performance.
6. Optional LCD display with an extended temperature rating between -40 to 85°C.
7. Optional advanced LCD display with a local operator interface (LOI).
8. The Rosemount 644 head-mounted transmitter can use two types of housing materials (aluminum and stainless steel) and various housing options, providing installation flexibility in various environmental conditions. The Rosemount 644 field-mounted transmitter uses an aluminum housing.
9. Special dual sensor features include Hot Backup™, sensor drift alarm, first good value, temperature difference, and average temperature measurement, supporting not only analog output signals but also simultaneous four-variable measurement outputs.
10. Other advanced features include thermocouple aging diagnostics (which can monitor the health of the thermocouple) and tracking of minimum/maximum process and transmitter temperatures.
