Among Rosemount transmitters, the Rosemount 3051 is a very well-known product series. In addition to the commonly seen 3051 series, there are also series transmitters like 2051, 2088, and 2090. Each series generally includes pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, and level transmitters. Today, we will discuss the Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter. The 3051 series pressure transmitters are divided into the 3051TG pressure transmitter and the 3051GP pressure transmitter. These two pressure transmitters operate on the same principle, with the only difference being their parameters. Below, we will mainly discuss the working principle and product structure of these two pressure transmitters.
When the Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter is in operation, the high and low pressure sides of the transmitter transmit the process pressure to the filling liquid, which then transmits the pressure to the sensing diaphragm at the center of the Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter. The sensing diaphragm is a tensioned elastic element, whose displacement changes with the applied pressure, and the displacement is proportional to the pressure. The capacitive plates on both sides of the Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter detect the position of the sensing diaphragm. The difference in capacitance between the sensing diaphragm and the capacitive plates is then converted into a corresponding current, which is output as a voltage or digital HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) signal.
The Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter consists of two parts: a pressure sensor and a microprocessor. It fully utilizes the computational and storage capabilities of the microprocessor to process data from the pressure sensor, including conditioning the measurement signal (such as filtering, amplification, A/D conversion, etc.), displaying data, automatic calibration, and automatic compensation.
The microprocessor is the core of the intelligent pressure transmitter. It not only calculates, stores, and processes measurement data but also adjusts the sensor through feedback loops to optimize the collected data. Due to the various software and hardware functions of the microprocessor, it can accomplish tasks that traditional transmitters find difficult. Therefore, intelligent pressure transmitters reduce the manufacturing difficulty of sensors and significantly improve their performance.
