【Decryption】Calibration steps for the Shanwu valve positioner AVP series.

  Automatic tuning
Automatic tuning is a specific program that can automatically complete the adjustment of various positioners. Once the positioner is installed, the automatic tuning program can be initiated. The zero point range switch used for stroke adjustment can be adjusted for zero position and full scale without interference. The self-tuning program can automatically detect the characteristic parameters of the following actuators:
(1) Zero point range adjustment.
(2) Minimum and maximum values of the input signal.
(3) Actuator size setting.
(4) Damping setting.
(5) Valve position upper and lower limits.
If the smart valve positioner is installed on a specified actuator, the positioner's program will provide a certain amount of overshoot to ensure the valve is fully closed. The maximum overshoot required to ensure the valve is fully closed should be less than 1% of the stroke. If the type of actuator is not specified or the actuator is not a Yamabuki product, please input the actuator type to ensure appropriate overshoot for closure.
1: Use the stroke switch for automatic tuning.
Before performing zero point range adjustment and automatic tuning, please confirm first. If the smart positioner did not provide detailed information about the valve or actuator at the time of ordering, and the positioner is to be used on a flow-open valve, the valve's action form must be set before running self-tuning.
The stroke button is a switch for executing automatic tuning and zero point range adjustment.
(1) Set the input signal of the positioner to 18mA. (Using 4-20mA as the power and control signal)
(2) Open the front cover of the positioner, press the stroke button 'UP' ('DOWN' is used for cam twist valve VFR), and hold until the positioner starts to act (about 3 seconds). At this point, the automatic tuning program begins to run. Release the switch. The valve will go through two processes from fully closed to fully open, then stay at about 50% for 2 minutes. Finally, it will stay at 87.5%, input different input signals to confirm that automatic tuning has been completed, and the entire automatic tuning process takes about 3 minutes.
2: Zero point range adjustment
After completing self-tuning, the smart valve positioner will automatically calculate the zero point and full scale of the valve. If the zero point and full scale of the valve do not correspond to the control signal, the following steps can be followed to correct it through zero point range adjustment.
Note: The zero point range adjustment switch only works when the input signal corresponds to the zero point or range signal set by the positioner.
(For example, 4-20mA) Zero point adjustment steps
(1) Provide the correct corresponding zero point current signal through a controller or a current source (not forced fully closed). If the forced fully closed is set to 0% through the manual operator, the current signal should be 4mA, otherwise it should be 4.085mA.
(2) Press and hold the 'UP' button until the valve position rises slightly. At this point, press and hold the 'DOWN' button until the output pressure of the positioner is completely 0.
(3) If the forced closure characteristics of the valve change during zero point adjustment, change them back after the adjustment is completed.
Full scale (range) adjustment steps
(1) Provide the correct corresponding full scale current signal (for example: 20mA) through a controller or a current source.
(2) Fine-tune the valve opening using the zero point/range adjustment buttons 'UP' or 'DOWN'.
Note: After adjustment, input different current signals to check the accuracy of the positioner.
AVP series self-tuning method
Automatic setting
1. Set the input signal to 18mA as the trigger signal for automatic setting.
2. Rotate the switch clockwise.
3. Hold for 3 seconds.
Self/manual switch
1. The switch is installed on the right side of the SVP3000.
2. Rotate the switch cover to expose the switch.
3. Rotate the switch to the 'Man' position.
