How to debug the Fisher DVC6000 positioner using the handheld operator?
The Fisher DVC6000 series positioner is one of the most common positioner series under Emerson's Fisher brand. It is a HART® communication instrument used to convert a two-wire 4-20 mA control signal into a pneumatic output for actuators. It can also be easily modified to replace existing analog positioners on most Fisher and non-Fisher pneumatic actuators. When we purchase the Fisher DVC6000 positioner, we generally need to debug and install it. However, some users or sites may not know how to debug it. Today, the technical editor from Shaanxi Huibo Electromechanical will explain how to debug the Fisher DVC6000 using a handheld operator.

Open the 275/375 handheld device, select HART Application from the Main Menu, and find the positioner in On line. Sequentially enter Setup&Diag - Detailed Setup - Mode - Instrument Mode (or press the shortcut key on the handheld device to enter directly) - Warning! The valve may move when in Service mode is sent to the instrument. Press OK to enter Instrument Mode, select Out of service, and press ENTER - After the prompt 'Instrument mode is already out of service!' return to the main interface and sequentially enter Setup&Diag - Basic Setup - Auto setup - Setup Wizard:
1. Select the pressure units you are using (Pressure units(psi)) and then press ENTER;
2. Enter the maximum supply pressure (Max Supply Press(psi)) and then press ENTER;
3. Select the manufacturer of the actuator (Actuator Manufacturer) and then press ENTER. If the brand is not listed, select OTHER;
4. If the actuator is single-acting with a spring, select 3; for double-acting with a spring, select 4; for double-acting without a spring, select 2;
5. Select ROTARY, then based on whether the valve's zero signal is open, select 2; if closed, select 1. Next, select 1 and then select YES to automatically choose the valve direction and gain size;
6. Choose whether there is a volume booster or quick release valve (Is a Volume Booster or Quick Release Present?);
7. Prompt that actuator information is being sent to the instrument, please wait: 'Actuator information is being sent to the instrument. Please wait...';
8. Select to use factory defaults for setup? (Yes is recommended for Initial Setup) After selecting Yes, press ENTER;
9. Prompt that factory default settings are being sent to the instrument, please wait: 'Factory defaults are being sent to the instrument. Please wait...';
10. Continue with auto setup, select Relay Adjust to continue Auto Setup;
11. Do you wish to run Relay Adjustment Calibration now? (Do you wish to run Relay Adjustment Calibration now?) If it is double-acting, select Yes; if single-acting, select No, then press ENTER;
12. Select Auto Calib Travel to continue. Press OK;
13. Do you wish to run Auto Travel Calibration now? (Do you wish to run Auto Travel Calib now? Select YES if initial setup) After selecting Yes, press ENTER;
14. Warning! Calibration will cause the instrument's output to change suddenly. Press OK;
15. Select Crossover Adjust (Select Crossover Adjust) Manual/Last Value/Default. Normally select default and then press ENTER. If the default adjustment has poor accuracy, then select Manual;
16. Next, enter the process of automatic travel calibration. After completion, the instrument mode will return to In service!
