  1. Shutdown method for freezing issues
If the 475 freezes, it cannot be shut down using the normal shutdown method. At this time, you can press and hold the Fn + bulb key for a few seconds to shut it down. Please do not directly remove the battery.
  2. Touch pen cannot operate the handheld communicator
If the touch pen cannot operate the 475, please follow the steps below to recalibrate the touchscreen.
Calibration:
a. Enter the 475 Main Menu;
b. Use the arrow keys to select Settings, and press the Delete key to enter the next menu;
c. Use the arrow keys to select Touch Screen Alignment, and press the Delete key to enter the recalibration interface;
d. A cross will appear in the center of the screen; use the touch pen to tap the location of the cross. (The cross will appear in 5 positions: the center and 4 corners.)
e. After this operation is completed, the touchscreen will return to normal. (If this situation occurs again in the future, please follow the above steps to recalibrate.)
  3. Solutions for frequent freezing and errors entering Hart or FF- RE-FLASH or RE-IMAGE operation (please try the RE-FLASH operation first; if the fault still exists, then try the RE-IMAGE operation)
If the 475 frequently freezes or encounters errors entering the Hart Application, performing a Re-Flash or Re-Image operation can resolve most of these issues. The specific steps are as follows:
a. Enter the 475 Main Menu;
b. Select Settings;
c. Select About 475;
d. Select Re-Flash (or Re-Image).
e. Select Yes to confirm this operation, and make sure the charger is plugged in at this time, as the Re-Flash (or Re-Image) operation consumes a lot of power. Therefore, please ensure that this operation is performed while charging; otherwise, it may lead to irreparable serious consequences.
f. If the handheld communicator is confirmed to be charging, you can press OK to start the Re-Flash (or Re-Image). Please be patient; the Re-Flash operation takes about twenty minutes, while the Re-Image operation takes about 50 minutes.
g. After the operation is completed, the screen will provide prompts. Please follow the prompts.
  4. About the ATTENTION interface
For the 475 handheld communicator, if it does not shut down properly or if the startup is interrupted (for example, if the battery is dead or insufficient), the following screen will appear:
Attention
The 475 did not boot up properly. Please select one of the following:
Retry - To reboot the 475
Reflash - To reload the application software
Recover - To reload the OS (Note: Only select this option under the direction
of the service center
Retry Reflash Recover
If you encounter the above situation, please note that this is not a fault; just click the Retry or Reflash button in the lower left corner (generally, please try clicking Retry first; sometimes it requires plugging in the charger for about 20 minutes to refresh and protect the software program).
If the battery is insufficient, clicking Retry or Reflash will cause it to restart repeatedly. At this time, you need to plug in the charger, charge it, and then click Retry or Reflash. After a moment, follow the prompts on the screen. Please continue using the handheld communicator after it is fully charged; starting it with insufficient power will result in the above screen.
