  1. Detection Method:
1. Replacement Detection: Replace the suspected faulty part to determine the fault location. For example, if the circuit board of the Rosemount transmitter is suspected to be faulty, a temporary replacement can be made to identify the cause.
2. Segmented Detection: Divide the measurement circuit into several parts, such as power supply, signal output, signal transmission, and signal detection. Check in segments, from simple to complex, from surface to interior, narrowing down the range to find the fault location.
3. Short Circuit Detection: Ensure safety and directly short-circuit the relevant part of the circuit. For example, if the output value of the Rosemount transmitter is too low, disconnect the pressure guiding tube and directly connect the signal from the primary pressure valve to both sides of the Rosemount transmitter to observe its output, in order to determine the connectivity of the pressure guiding pipeline for blockages or leaks.
4. Open Circuit Detection: Separate the suspected faulty part from other parts to see if the fault disappears. If it does, the fault location is confirmed; otherwise, further investigation can be conducted. For example, if the Rosemount transmitter cannot communicate normally via Hart remote communication, disconnect the power from the transmitter body and use an additional power source on-site to power the transmitter for communication, to check if the cable is superimposing about 2kHz electromagnetic signals that interfere with communication.
  2. Investigation Method:Review the events before the fault occurred, such as sparking, smoke, strange odors, power supply changes, lightning strikes, humidity, misoperation, and incorrect maintenance.
  3. Visual Method:Observe external damage to the circuit, leaks in the pressure guiding tube, overheating of the circuit, and the status of the power supply switch, etc.
