What new features have appeared in the Rosemount 3051 series transmitters?

Now Emerson has enhanced the Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter with new features, performance improvements, and functionality. Performance Improvements
• 0.04% range reference accuracy
• 150:1 rangeability
• LCD and LOI, operating temperature up to -40˚C
Selectable HART revision
Using the selectable HART revision reduces inventory and protects investment. Since the Rosemount 3051 can be field-configured to revision 5 or 7, you can utilize current and future system functionalities.
Variable Variables
The conversion variable feature of the Rosemount 3051 allows you to configure the engineering units of output values for specific applications, reducing operational complexity.
Process Alarms
The process alarm feature sends notifications when unexpected pressure or temperature changes occur, allowing you to take timely action to prevent issues from worsening. You can configure the transmitter to send notifications when process values exceed user-defined limits.
Low Flow Cutoff Feature
With the low flow cutoff feature, you can reduce the output to zero when there is no flow, eliminating erroneous readings.
New Options
Power Diagnostic Feature (designated DA0)
Now, you can proactively detect issues with electrical circuit integrity before they impact process operations. This innovation helps prevent unexpected downtime and ensures the safety of critical applications.
Local Operating Interface (designated M4)
The LOI menu is straightforward, and it has a built-in configuration button, allowing users to operate the device within a minute without complex training or tools (even in hazardous areas) without opening the transmitter housing.
Wireless (designated 'Transmitter Output' X)
Using the Rosemount 3051 wireless solution allows for more comprehensive monitoring of operations. New pressure, level, or flow measurements can be quickly added even for remote locations, saving significant infrastructure costs.
Safety Certification (designated QT)
The Rosemount 3051 has passed SIL2/3 certification (IEC 61508) and includes complete documentation to meet your SIS requirements. The power diagnostic feature is also certified for use in a wider range of applications.
External Buttons (designated M4, DZ, or D4)
External buttons are separated from the transmitter's electronic components, making it easier to configure in hazardous areas. You can also specify the functions of these buttons:
• Local Operating Interface (designated M4)
• Digital Zero - compensates for the effects of installation position (designated DZ)
• Analog Zero and Range - adjusts the transmitter range with applied pressure (designated D4)
