Practical installation steps for Rosemount 3144P temperature transmitter.


Rosemount temperature transmitters are a common type of specialized transmitters for measuring temperature. The main models include the Rosemount 148 temperature transmitter, Rosemount 248 temperature transmitter, Rosemount 644 temperature transmitter, and Rosemount 3144P temperature transmitter. Among them, the Rosemount 3144P temperature transmitter is the most advanced. Today, we will discuss the installation steps for the Rosemount 3144P temperature transmitter. It should be installed at the highest point of the cable pipeline to prevent moisture from entering the transmitter's housing.
1. Typical on-site installation
1. Install the thermowell onto the process container wall.
2. Install and tighten the thermowell.
3. Perform a leak check.
4. Connect all necessary fittings, couplings, and extension pipe accessories. Use certified thread sealant to seal the fittings' threads, such as silicone resin or PTFE tape (as required).
5. Screw the sensor into the thermowell or directly onto the process pipeline (depending on installation requirements).
6. Verify all sealing requirements.
7. Install the transmitter onto the thermowell/sensor. Use certified thread sealant to seal all threads, such as silicone resin or PTFE tape (as required).
8. Install the field wiring conduit into the transmitter conduit entry (for split installation) and connect the wires into the transmitter housing.
9. Pull the field wiring leads to the terminal side of the housing.
10. Connect the sensor leads to the transmitter's sensor terminals (the wiring diagram is in the housing cover).
11. Securely install and tighten the two transmitter covers.

2. Typical split installation
1. Install the thermowell onto the process container wall.
2. Install and tighten the thermowell.
3. Perform a leak check.
4. Connect the junction box to the thermowell.
5. Insert the sensor into the thermowell and wire the sensor to the junction box (the wiring diagram is located inside the junction box).
6. Use a mounting bracket option (B4 bracket, as shown below) to install the transmitter onto a 50 mm (2-inch) pipe or panel.
7. Install the cable sealing sleeve onto the shielded cable from the junction box to the transmitter conduit entry.
8. Connect the shielded cable back to the control room from the transmitter's other side conduit entry.
9. Insert the shielded cable into the junction box/transmitter through the cable entry. Connect and tighten the cable sealing fitting.
10. Connect the shielded cable leads to the junction box terminals (inside the junction box) and the sensor wiring terminals (inside the transmitter housing).
